I was pretty excited when I received an email from Voyage LA. They wanted to interview me. Of course, I agreed. Read my interview below as I spill all the hard work and dedication that goes behind the scenes at IVChic.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arminé Gambaryan.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I took a Business class in college, for my final project I had to write a business plan. I always wanted to be a business owner. I used this opportunity with the intentions of actually starting my own company. This was my chance to have my professor provide constructive criticism and give me proper feedback.

I founded IVChic in 2014 and it has been an intense journey. Starting a company is definitely not an easy path. It requires patience, a lot of hard work, dedication, research, and support. Having the right group of friends and family helped me immensely. Their support gave me the courage to never give-up and continue on my entrepreneurial path.

Three and a half years later, IVChic is still going strong. I continuously keep up with current trends and listen to my clients’ needs to ensure satisfaction.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish! I would like to meet an entrepreneur who has had a smooth sailing experience. There are a lot of unexpected struggles that come up when starting a business. Some simple questions seemed to be the most difficult to answer. For example, how do I market my company? Who is my target consumer? Can I ship internationally? How do I file my taxes to the Board of Equalization? What legal documents do I need to start an e-commerce? Google became my best friend, my accountant and business manager were on speed dial, my sister became my creative director.

When you trust yourself and focus on your goals, everything is possible. I have encountered many detours and found ways to get past the road blocks and overcome the challenges. I was never afraid to ask for help or seek for advice when moments were tough. The lessons I’ve learned, the people I have met encouraged me to pedal through the difficulties.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
IVChic focuses on the modern woman to help transition her hairstyles effortlessly. We have all developed an on-the-go lifestyle and need a functioning hairstyle to match all the activities in our daily routines. We schedule: fitness, family, friends, work, and business meetings all in one day.

With a collection of chic hair jewelry to match every personality, IVChic will get you through that intense workout and transition your look to the office or brunch. Most of our focus are pieces for the ponytail and bun. However, if hair pins and headbands are your thing, we’ve got that too in our City Chic Collection.

My proudest moment with IVChic was when I got published in US Weekly magazine in May 2015. What a surreal moment!

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I am working on my own designs and if all goes according to plan (fingers crossed no detours) I will have my products ready to reveal by summer. This process is exciting because seeing my sketches come to life is definitely a “pinch-me” moment.
